To be eligible for enrollment, stallion owners must submit official breed stallion reports confirming that the stallion has been bred to a minimum of 10 mares throughout its lifetime.

The enrollment period is valid from November 15th to the following Nov 15th. Eligibility for re-enrollment in the following year is not automatic and is solely at the discretion of the Company.

Stallion Auction

Stallion owners have an obligation to provide a breeding to Deep South Stallions for auction, or they have the choice to abstain from the auction by paying a $350 fee. The auction is scheduled to commence on December 15th and will continue until January 15th. Bidders must register for the auction to place their bids and are required to make their payments within a 24-hour window. In the event of non-payment, the stallion breeding will be offered to the backup bidder.

Junior Stallion

A stallion holds the status of a Junior Stallion until his eldest foal reaches four years of age. Enrollment applications are open for submission at any time, and it is advisable to enroll before the actual year of enrollment to benefit from reduced foal enrollment fees. Enrollments are exclusively accepted by the current stallion owner. The annual enrollment fee remains at $1500 until the stallion’s eldest foal turns four years old. In that particular year, the annual fee increases to $2500. Applicants must include a copy of the stallion’s breed registration papers, demonstrating current ownership, along with their application.

Please note that Deep South Stallion Incentive Program LLC reserves the right to decline enrollment for any stallion. If a stallion owner chooses to remove the stallion from the program, the stallion may not be eligible for reenrollment under that same owner.

Foal Enrollment

A horse’s age will be determined by the calendar year, commencing on January 1 of the year it was born. In the calendar year of its birth, it is considered a weanling, and in the subsequent calendar year, it becomes a yearling, regardless of the specific date of its birth within that year. For newly enrolled stallions during their first year, the introductory rate for foals will be set at $200. Following the stallion’s initial year of enrollment, your foals will be entered at the standard Fee Schedule rate.

The foal enrollment fee constitutes a one-time payment and should be mailed in with a postmark no later than December 31st, or before the foal’s participation in an approved event, to ensure that the current year’s fees are in effect.

  • Fee Schedule:
  • Weanlings $200
  • Yearlings $300
  • Two Year Olds $400
  • Three Year Olds $500
  • Four Year Olds and older $600
  • Dropped Stallion Any Age Foal $1300

Every foal that is nominated will be included in the listings on the Deep South Stallion Incentive Program website. The enrollment fee is a one-time payment for the life of the horse. If the registration papers are not submitted along with the nomination application, the foal’s listing will temporarily display as “Dams Name” until a copy of the registration papers is furnished to the Deep South Stallions office.

Transfer of Ownership

The new owner is required to furnish the Deep South Stallions office with a copy of the registration papers that reflect the current ownership, including the updated address, phone number, and email. The office will then proceed to update the records accordingly.

Horse Auction

The Deep South Stallion Incentive Program will host an ONLINE-ONLY AUCTION with dates to be announced soon. This virtual auction will span three days, and bidding can be done exclusively on www.deepsouthstallions.com. The entry fee for consignors is $100 (plus applicable fees), with a 10% commission if the horse is sold. To participate, consignors must provide photographs, videos, registration papers, and a copy of the horse’s coggins test. All horses are guaranteed to be sound and are covered by a 48-hour guarantee from each consignor, unless the consignor explicitly declares the horse “as is.” It is important to note that the sale management cannot be held responsible for misunderstandings between buyers and consignors. In the event of a dispute, a licensed Veterinarian may be called upon to assist in resolving any issues. Any warranties or guarantees made by the consignor from the auction are a matter strictly between the buyer and the consignor. By entering a horse in this sale, consignors enter into a contract with the sale company, committing to present a high-quality, healthy, sound, and marketable animal at the auction.
